Gasway Commended at the 2026 TEQ Awards
Gasway has been commended in the High Volume Heating category at the 2026 TEQ Awards, another piece of recognition to add to the qualifications, accreditations, experience and credentials that demonstrate what we can deliver as a heating provider.
Hosted by Domestic & General, the TEQ Awards are based on real customer feedback, which makes this commendation particularly important to us. There are plenty of ways to demonstrate technical ability within our industry, and rightly so, but customer feedback gives us something slightly different. It shows what the service actually feels like when all of that technical knowledge, planning and resource reaches somebody’s home.
For Gasway, this is also recognition for something that can be surprisingly difficult to recognise internally: keeping things running well every day.
High Volume Heating Recognition Built on Everyday Service
There is not necessarily a big moment behind it. It is thousands of appointments being booked and attended, jobs being completed, customers being kept informed and problems being dealt with when they arise.
It is the work happening in the office to coordinate a large volume of activity and the engineers out in the field representing Gasway in customers’ homes every day.
When that is working properly, it becomes normal. In fact, that is largely the point.
A customer should not have to think about how much work has gone into getting the right engineer to their property at the right time, what has happened behind the scenes to manage the appointment or how many other jobs are moving through the business alongside theirs. They should simply receive a good service.
The difficulty is that the better you become at making that happen, the easier it is for the work behind it to disappear into the background. The normal day-to-day running of a heating service is rarely what gets celebrated, despite being the thing that ultimately determines whether customers and clients want to continue working with you.
That is why being commended in High Volume Heating feels particularly relevant.
What High Volume Heating Means in Practice
Volume changes the challenge.
It is relatively easy to talk about delivering a high standard when looking at an individual job. The challenge for a business like Gasway is delivering that standard repeatedly while dealing with a large number of appointments, customers, engineers, changing circumstances and competing priorities.
As volumes grow, so does the number of opportunities for something to go wrong. There are more calls to manage, more appointments to schedule, more engineers to coordinate and more situations where plans need to change during the day.
A delay on one job can affect another. An unexpected repair can change an engineer’s schedule. A customer may need additional support or a job may require more work than first expected.
None of that is unusual. It is simply part of operating a heating service at scale.
Maintaining Customer Service Standards at Scale
The important part is having the people, processes and experience in place to manage that volume without allowing the overall standard to slip.
That depends equally on our staff in the office and the engineers working in the field. The engineer is often the face of Gasway and the person the customer will remember, but every successful visit has an operation behind it.
The information has to be captured correctly, the appointment needs to be planned, workloads have to be managed and the engineer needs the right information and support to complete the job.
Likewise, all of the work taking place behind the scenes ultimately has to result in somebody arriving at the customer’s property and doing the job safely, professionally and properly.
Customers experience the result of both.
Being commended in a category specifically focused on high-volume heating therefore means more than simply being recognised for good engineering. It reflects the wider service around it and the ability to maintain standards while delivering at scale.
Building Gasway’s Heating Industry Credentials
The commendation also adds to the wider picture we are able to present to customers and clients when they ask why they should trust Gasway with their heating services.
No single qualification, accreditation, award or piece of customer feedback can answer that question on its own. The strength comes from the stack of evidence behind the business.
Our technical qualifications demonstrate that our engineers have the knowledge and competence required to carry out the work. Accreditations and compliance standards demonstrate how that work is managed. Our experience shows that we understand the reality of operating in the heating industry and our long-standing client relationships show that organisations continue to trust us to deliver on their behalf.
Customer feedback and external recognition add another part to that story because they show how the service is being received once all of those things are put into practice.
Why Customer Feedback Matters to Heating Providers
That matters when we are talking to both existing and prospective clients.
When an organisation appoints Gasway, particularly where we are working directly with their customers or residents, they are trusting us with more than a piece of technical work.
The way we answer a call, communicate with a customer, attend a property and deal with a problem can reflect on the client just as much as it reflects on us.
They therefore need confidence that we can deal with the volume of work required while protecting the service standard around it.
Our qualifications and accreditations remain an important part of giving that confidence, but recognition based on the experience of real customers provides a different type of evidence. It shows that those standards are not just written down somewhere; they are making their way through the business and reaching the people receiving the service.
The TEQ commendation is another useful piece of that evidence.
It is not suddenly the thing that defines Gasway, nor should it be. It sits alongside the other credentials, relationships and experience we have built over time and makes the overall case stronger.
Recognising the Work Behind Good Customer Service
Internally, there is another reason this particular recognition is worth talking about.
The normality of doing things properly is not normally recognised.
Most of us are naturally drawn towards the things that have gone wrong, need improving or still need to be done. That is particularly true in a busy operational business. Once one job is complete, attention moves to the next one. Once today’s appointments have been dealt with, tomorrow’s are already waiting.
That is how the business has to operate, but it can mean that a lot of good work becomes almost invisible.
If an appointment goes ahead exactly as planned, there is rarely a big conversation about it afterwards. If a customer gets the information they need, an engineer arrives when expected and the issue is resolved, everybody simply moves on.
Multiply that across thousands of customer interactions and you start to understand what maintaining a strong service actually involves.
The Role of Office Staff and Heating Engineers
There will always be exceptions and there will always be areas where we can improve. No business operating at this scale gets everything right all of the time.
The important thing is how consistently the underlying standard is maintained and how the business responds when something does not go to plan.
That consistency relies on people at both ends of the service.
Our office staff are managing customer contact, appointments, scheduling, workloads and the information engineers need to do their jobs effectively.
Our engineers are then taking that work out into customers’ homes, completing repairs, servicing systems, resolving faults and representing Gasway face to face.
Neither part works particularly well without the other.
The customer experiences the end result of both, which is why recognition based on customer feedback belongs just as much to the staff supporting the service in the office as it does to the engineers delivering it in the field.
Delivering Heating Services for Customers and Clients
The same applies to the clients who trust Gasway to deliver services on their behalf.
In many cases, we are not simply representing our own business when we enter a customer’s home. We are also representing the organisation that has appointed us.
That places an additional responsibility on the service we provide.
Clients need confidence that their customers will be treated professionally, kept informed and receive the standard of service they expect from the organisations involved.
That is why customer experience matters alongside technical competence.
Being able to demonstrate qualifications, accreditations and experience is essential. Being able to show that customers are also responding positively to the service helps complete the picture.
Heading Into Peak Winter Heating Demand
The timing of the commendation also gives us a good point at which to take stock because we are now moving into the most important part of the year for the heating industry.
Winter is our peak trading period, and it changes both the volume and urgency of the work coming through the business.
As temperatures drop and heating systems begin working harder, faults become more common and the consequences of being without heating or hot water become more serious.
Demand increases, diaries become busier and both our office staff and engineers have more to manage.
That is nothing new to Gasway. Winter comes around every year and the business is built to deal with it, but that does not mean it is easy.
Maintaining Heating Service Standards Through Winter
Peak trading tests all of the things that sit behind good customer service.
Planning becomes more important because there is less room in schedules. Communication becomes more important because customers are understandably more concerned when their heating is not working.
Supporting engineers becomes more important because their workloads are increasing at exactly the same time as the complexity and urgency of many jobs.
It is also the point in the year where small weaknesses can become much more visible.
For that reason, the TEQ commendation feels like a good turning point.
We are not heading into winter talking about a standard we hope to achieve. We are heading into it having had the standard we are already delivering recognised through customer feedback.
That does not mean we can coast through the next few months, quite the opposite. It gives us a benchmark to protect as volumes increase.
A Positive Turning Point Before Peak Trade
The focus now is on taking what is already working and maintaining it through the busiest period of the year.
There will be days where demand is high, schedules move around and circumstances force people to react quickly. That is unavoidable.
What matters is that the core service underneath it remains dependable, that customers are kept informed and that the office and field operations continue working together.
If we can do that through winter, then the recognition becomes more than something we received at an awards evening.
It becomes a useful marker of where the business was as it entered peak trade and something against which we can judge where we are when we come out the other side.
TEQ Recognition as Part of Gasway’s Wider Credentials
Awards and commendations inevitably create good photographs, LinkedIn posts and another credential that can be included in a presentation, but their real value comes from what they represent.
In this case, the TEQ commendation represents a large amount of very normal work being done well.
It represents staff in the office keeping customers informed, managing workloads and supporting the engineers delivering the service.
It represents engineers out in the field completing jobs, solving problems and dealing directly with customers every day.
It represents the systems and standards around them that allow Gasway to do that at volume, while also reflecting the confidence placed in us by clients who trust Gasway to deliver services on their behalf.
That makes it another worthwhile addition to our wider credentials and another piece of evidence behind the business when we talk about what Gasway is capable of delivering.
Building on Our 2026 TEQ Awards Commendation
More importantly, it gives us a good point from which to move forward.
We are heading into winter with plenty of work ahead of us and what is traditionally the toughest part of the year for the heating industry. There will be pressure, challenges and undoubtedly things we learn along the way.
But we are also entering that period with external recognition that the day-to-day standard being delivered by our people is being noticed by the customers receiving it.
That is something worth recognising in its own right.
Thank you to everyone in the office and every engineer out in the field who has played a part in maintaining that standard. The everyday work may not always feel like something that warrants an award, but ultimately it is exactly that everyday work that has earned this commendation.
Now the job is to carry it into winter.
